The Super Foil

Also known as the Giga Foil and the Gold Coil. The Arcane Inc. Gold Foil Designed completely by Arcane Inc. is an idealized version of the classic Gold Foil pickup in a humbucker housing. By replicating he key components of the classic gold foil pickup and looking at ways to improve the design we came up with our version that in many way tops the performance of the original while still maintaining the tones that made the original a sought after pickup.

We also made them easier to install by putting the Gold Foil in a humbucker housing that will fit into any humbucker equipped guitar. This pickup has a single coil tone that is clear but with a spongy softness that is both hifi and lofi at the same time due to its unique magnetic construction. This pickup is fantastic in the neck position of any guitar and matches well with tele bridge pickups or bridge humbuckers..

This design came about because I looked at many original gold foil pickups and boiled down the key components that contributed to the sound. I took these key components and put them in a stamdard humbucker footprint so they would be able to be installed in any guitar and for builders (I don’t recommend making guitars with unusual pickup footprints for the general market, players like to change pickups). The Gold Foil has an extremely wide magnetic aperture because of the unique magnetic structure, an aperture that is even wider than traditional Gold Foil pickups.. This is why in my opinion they sound better than the originals.

Wound on an antique winding machine, and using tuned ceramic Magnets, built around exclusive custom precision milled parts and select grade steel for all the components. Every pickup is painstakingly assembled with the utmost care producing a pickup that is the ultimate in quality. Every pickup features an engraved Arcane Inc. logo and is individually Serial Numbered.
